Lebanese Ministry of Information
Telecommunications Minister, Talal Hawat, on Monday welcomed at his ministerial office Information Minister, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, who visited him in the company Information Ministry’s General Director, Dr. Hassan Falha.
“We’re here to coordinate efforts between the two ministries in light of the great technological development that has occurred in the media sector,” Abdel Samad said.
She went on to explain today’s burgeoning trend towards digital media, digital television, video and other matters that require a shift from today’s adopted systems.
“On such basis, we are gathering here today in a bid to seek the best means to cooperate between the two ministries to help develop the media sector and media in line with the global change in this sector.
“It is necessary to form a joint and fruitful cooperation [between the ministries of telecoms and information] and to produce a service of benefit for the public and private media sector,” Abdel Samad added, hoping that a joint agreement will be reached over the matter soon.
