Aoun assures diplomats of Lebanon’s stability

President Michel Aoun assured gathered diplomats Tuesday that Lebanon is maintaining security and political stability.
Aoun was delivering a speech before diplomats and other foreign envoys in an annual event held at the beginning of the New Year at Baabda Palace. Aoun also reiterated that the Parliamentary elections slated for May 6 will be held as scheduled. Controversy over various elements of the election plan has prompted concerns that the first Parliamentary elections since 2009 will again be delayed.
