Minister of Information, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, and President of the Lebanese University, Professor Bassam Badran, on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Information and CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers), in the presence of CNAM Director Dr. Sandrella Abu Fayyad, and board members, Programs Director at Radio Lebanon Rita Noujaim Al-Roumi, Advisor to the Minister of Information Lawyer Mohammed Ezzeddine, and a number of professors and students.
The signing ceremony took place at the LU University’s campus.
At the beginning of the signing ceremony, Badran welcomed Minister Morcos and said: “As with all higher education institutions, our core principle is cooperation with public administrations and institutions, and part of our mission is to fulfill all our responsibilities towards these institutions.”
In turn, Minister Morcos emphasized that “this agreement falls within a clear vision to develop Radio Lebanon, by drawing on scientific expertise and national skills, and keeping pace with the path of digital transformation in a solid and professional manner.”
Morcos further explained that “this cooperation will enable students from technical specializations to support the maintenance department, conducting an engineering survey, and ultimately preparing reports and a modernization plan based on international standards, under the Ministry’s supervision.”
Morcos pointed out that “this partnership will translate academic knowledge into practical applications that serve the official media institution, with the ministry providing an a suitable professional environment, technical references, and specialized supervision. It will also issue official certificates of experience to participants, within a clear academic and technical framework that safeguards confidentiality and entails no financial burden on the state.”
He stressed that “what is taking place is a genuine collaboration between the university and the state, bringing together the concept and implementation, and uniting a generation that is gaining experience with one that is passing it on, with the aim of activating Radio Lebanon’s position as a modern institution capable of continuing its national role efficiently.”
The Minister concluded by thanking everyone who contributed to finalizing the agreement, stressing that “investing in knowledge is the true gateway to modernizing the state, and that this step lays the the foundation for a partnership that builds for the future.”
