Makary In Letter To Reuters And AFP: We Regret Equating The Killer With The Killed

Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary, sent a letter to Reuters and AFP, in which he regretted the new agencies’ coverage of the killing of video journalist Issam Abdallah and the injury of reporter Christina Assi.

In his letter, Makary criticized the two agencies for “equating the killer with killed,” noting that the two journalists were hit by Israeli fire along the Lebanese-Palestinian border.

“The Ministry of Information will not be lenient in following up on this issue in order to do justice and preserve the rights of martyr Issam Abdallah and wounded Christina Assi,” the letter read.
