Minister of Information, Dr. Manal Abdel Samad Najd, on Monday welcomed a delegation of the Photographers’ Syndicate, headed by Aziz Taher.
On emerging, Taher said that the delegation had informed Her Excellency about the launch of “Martyr George Samarjian Photographers’ Award”, which had been postponed due to the most recent events.
“We’ve expressed hope that the Media Law would take into consideration the Photographers’ Syndicate; and we have also confirmed the substantial role of photojournalists, and the need to protect them,” Taher said.
“Minister Abdel Samad has listened to our demands and has expressed her willingness to help us,” he added, noting that the Minister has promised to raise the issue during the cabinet session.
