Breaking: 2 New Coronavirus Deaths Recorded in Lebanon, Total of 10

Lebanon now has a total of 10 coronavirus-related deaths, the Ministry of Public Health confirmed in its daily COVID-19 report on Sunday, March 29th.

The Health Ministry’s report said that 2 coronavirus patients have passed away in the past 24 hours. According to the ministry, both patients were suffering from chronic illnesses and both were in their 70s when they passed away.

The report also said that one of the two patients passed away at Saint Georges University Hospital and the other at Hotel Dieu University Hospital.

Currently, there are 4 coronavirus cases in Lebanon considered in critical condition, out of the total active cases.

The active cases, considering that 10 deaths and 30 recoveries have been recorded in total, are 398 as of Sunday, March 29th.

Lebanon has been recording new deaths daily for the past 3 days, with 2 deathsrecorded on March 26th, 1 on March 27th, and an additional one yesterday, March 28th.

Conversely, the total number of recoveries has been steadily increasing during the same period. In less than one week, the recoveries have jumped from 20 to 30.

In accordance with the latest data shared by the Health Ministry, the recovery rate of the coronavirus is now about 6.85% in Lebanon, while that of mortality is approximately 2.28%.

In Sunday’s report, the Ministry of Public Health announced that the accredited hospitals and laboratories across the country have recorded 26 new coronavirus cases.

This raised the total of cases to 438 on March 29th. Yesterday, that number was 412 with 21 new cases reported on March 28th.
