Breaking: 35 New Coronavirus Cases in Lebanon, Total of 368

Lebanon now has a total of 368 coronavirus cases, the Ministry of Public Health confirmed in its March 26th COVID-19 report.

The report said: “Until 26/03/2020, the total of laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases at Rafik Hariri University Hospital, accredited university hospital laboratories, as well as private laboratories has reached 368 after 35 cases were recorded since yesterday.”

It also announced two new COVID-19-related deaths. The two patients were above 40 and above 60 respectively, and both were “suffering from chronic diseases.”

Considering that 6 deaths and 20 recoveries have been recorded in total so far, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Lebanon has become 342 on Thursday.

The latest data shared by the Ministry of Public Health shows that 944 patients are currently in quarantine and 3 cases are considered critical out of the total cases, as of the same date.

So far, a total of 5,534 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Lebanon. The ministry again stresses the importance of committing to the government’s general mobilization guidelines and self-isolation.

It insists that all citizens should adhere to the “implementation of all preventive measures, especially the commitment to complete domestic isolation, which has become an individual and societal moral responsibility that is incumbent on every citizen.”

Any negligence in the application of these measures “will expose the violator to legal and criminal prosecution,” as per the Health Ministry’s report.

The Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces, along with State Security, General Security, and Municipal Police forces, have been working to enforce the general mobilization since it was declared by the government on March 15th.

On Wednesday, the Lebanese Army closed 122 shops, dispersed 18 public gatherings, and assisted municipalities in enforcing the government’s decisions.
